Be Prepared for Limited Parking at LDS During the River Festival
If you're planning to attend any of the Wrangler games during this homestand, be prepared for limited parking in the Lawrence-Dumont Stadium parking lot. Historically, parking in our lot during River Festival is in high demand and therefore you may want to plan to arrive early in order to reserve yourself a spot. Priority Parking Pass holders are also reminded that possession of a pass does not guarantee you a spot in the priority lot as they are also filled on a first come, first served basis. Also, parking in our lot will be restricted to those that have tickets to that night's game and not available for people wishing to park in our lot and walk across the river to the downtown festivities.
NJCAA Region VI Tournament
The National Junior College Region Six tournament will take place at Lawrence Dumont Stadium from May 13-16th. The winner will advance to the National Junior College World Series. Tickets for the tournament are $7.00 and every seat is general admission. Join us on Saturday, May 14th for great Jr. College baseball and the best seats in all of Wichita for the River Festival Fireworks!
Wrangler Road Recap
The Wichita Wranglers have bounced back from their 2-9 start. The Wranglers took 3 of 5 from the then-division leading Arkansas Travelers last week, including a 7-0 shutout. The boys then went to Midland where they won the first two of the 4 game series, then dropped the next two.
They moved on to Frisco last night, where they defeated the RoughRiders, 6-5, in 12 long innings. The Wranglers came back from a 5-2 deficit to push the game to extra innings. Wichita's bullpen came through in a big way, shutting down Frisco's bats for eight innings! Barry Armitage struck out 7 batters (a team best this season) in 4.0 innings, his longest outing of the year. Leo Nunez picked up his first win at the double-A level, throwing a shutout 11th and 12th innings. Matt Tupman knocked in the game-winning run in the top of the 12th.
The Wranglers play two more in Frisco before returning home to Wichita on Thursday. You can listen live to all of the Wrangler games on KWME 93.5 FM or at wichitawranglers.com
