Louisville Fire News Release

RETURN TO THE MIRACLE... The Fire will return to Quad City where "The Miracle at The Mark" took place last season in the Fire's opening round playoff game. Here's how it went down last season, with four seconds left Danny Kight lined up for a 53-yard field goal to win the game for the Fire. The kick had the distance and it looked good, but it hit the left upright. Jeff Hewitt couldn't control the bounce off the iron and the ball bounced away. The Fire's Derrick Shepard came rumbling down the field to pick up the ball and Demetrius "The Freight Train" Forney delivered the key block to allow Sheppard to run into the end zone to win the game for the Fire. The game can be heard on 1080-AM WKJK with Wayne Kraus filling in for Paul Wilman at 8:30 on Saturday night. OVERTIME... The Fire needed a few extra minutes last Friday to defeat Albany 62-55 in overtime. The Fire was led by Demetrius "the Freight Train" Forney's five rushing touchdowns.

MORE RECORDS FALL... The Freight Train's five rushing touchdowns not only broke the Fire record for rushing touchdowns in a game, but Forney also tied the af2's all-time record for rushing touchdowns in a game and established a league high for the 2005 season.
