The Story:
The Pride will host Angel City FC on Sunday evening for their 2023 home opener at Exploria Stadium.
At Sunday's match, the Pride will debut their new Highway Woman Kit. The new primary kit for the Pride was designed in collaboration with the estate of Mary Ann Carroll, a legendary Florida-based Black artist and the only woman of the iconic Highwaymen painters.
In the Pride's season opener at Portland, five members of the side made their NWSL debuts, with defenders Caitlin Cosme and Emily Madril, along with forwards Messiah Bright and Adriana earning the start in the match. Midfielder Summer Yates would round out the debuts on the day, entering the match early in the second half.
Quote of the Week:
"Last year, we know we didn't win enough games at home," he said Wednesday. "That's not good enough. We want to make [Exploria Stadium] a fortress. We want to make it a difficult place for teams to come and play, and what better way to do it in your home opener in front of a good crowd against Angel City so we also need to bounce back from this weekend, and I think everyone's excited to get out there and play again."
- Head Coach Seb Hines
