The Story:
The Orlando Pride head back into NWSL Regular Season play, set to square off against the Kansas City Current.
The Pride have yet to drop a game to the Current, however the team has seen a crop of fresh faces come in over the offseason, including highly-touted midfielder Debinha. The side will also be playing their first regular season match under interim head coach Caroline Sjöblom, after Matt Potter and the club parted ways on Wednesday.
The Pride's return to regular season play will see the first Official Watch Party presented by Heineken Silver, in 2023. Fans can tune into Sunday's fixture at Kiwi's Pub & Grill, located at 801 W State Rd 436 Unit 1017, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
Goalkeeper Carly Nelson and defender Tori Hansen made their debuts for the Pride on Wednesday against North Carolina, each earning the start, while forward Ally Watt scored her first goal of the 2023 campaign. Forward Maliah Morris also made her debut in the match, entering the game in the 71st minute.
Quote of the Week:
"They're going through [a coaching] change. They're all also looking to win a game of football like ourselves, so it should be a really good, interesting game. It's nice to go away from home, different environment. Obviously they're building something there in terms of their fans and stadium up-and-coming but, we have to focus on ourselves."
- Head Coach Seb Hines
