Texas defeats Monterrey, moves to 19-5 on the season

Dallas, TX - The Texas Tycoons defeated the Monterrey Veneno-Poison on Sunday, by a score of 118-109. Seven (7) Tycoons finished in double figures as the team moved to 19-5 on the season. Donnie Beacham (6'5''-F-81, college: Texas Arlington) had 21 points and 16 rebounds, Benny West (6'3''-G-82, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Howard Payne) had 20 and 14, Randall Williams (6'8''-C-82, college: Tarleton St.) 18 and 10, while Jerome Rogers (5'10''-G-81, college: N.Texas), Josh Gonner (6'2''-G-82, college: S.Carolina), Brandon Lee (6'3''-G, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Tarleton St.), and Tyrone Rayson (6'6''-F-80, college: East Central) finished with 16, 13, 13, and 10 respectively.

For Monterrey Fred Hooks (6'6''-F/G, agency: Passing Lane, college: Humboldt St. ) was the star on the night collecting 48 points and 11 rebounds to go with 4 assists and 5 blocks and 5 steals in an all-star performance. Cliff White (6'2''-G-80, college: Cascade) had 23 and James Fontenet (6'2''-G-82, college: UTEP) and Wayne Rhymes (6'3''-G-79, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Colorado Springs) had 18 a piece in a losing effort.

Final score at Dallas's Mountain View College; Texas 118, Monterrey 109. The 19-5 Texas Tycoons are currently ranked #3 in the nation and are leading the ABA in scoring at over 130ppg.
