Frost Heaves #1 in latest ABA Power Rankings

South Burlington, Vt.-The Vermont Frost Heaves will face the Maryland Nighthawks and 7'9" Sun Ming Ming of China, the tallest player in basketball history, on Thursday, February 15. Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. at Burlington's Memorial Auditorium.

Sun will overnight at the Frost Heaves' official host hotel, the Vermont Maple Inn in Colchester, where the chief engineer is exploring an arrangement whereby Sun might sleep in two beds laid end to end.

Former UVM great and current St. Michael's College women's coach Jen Niebling of Randolph will serve as Thursday's Northfield Savings Bank 110% Community All-Star-on the bench, in uniform and ready if needed.

The public is invited to attend the Frost Heaves' Wednesday practice at Memorial between 5:30 and 6 p.m.

The Frost Heaves, who for the first time captured the top spot in the weekly American Basketball Association power rankings released yesterday, have won 11 of their last 12 games and lead the Blue North Division with a record of 23-4.
