Texas breaks home attendance mark with 4,419 at Dr Pepper Arena

Frisco, TX (February 25, 2011) - Despite the largest home crowd in franchise history, the Texas Legends fell 132-110 to the Erie BayHawks, as 4,419 fans packed HP Court inside Dr Pepper Arena on Friday night.
The BayHawks scored the first eight points of the game in route to taking a 25-9 lead less than eight minutes into the first quarter. Ivan Johnson began with the hot hand, scoring ten of the first 14 points of the game for Erie.
The Legends were able to crawl back within seven points in the first and they went into the second quarter trailing 39-28.
Erie used a 10-1 run in the middle of the second period to extend their lead to their largest of the game at 23, when they went up 64-41. The Legends finished the half down 70-51.
Joe Alexander and Kelvin Lewis each had 14 points in the first half for Texas, while Johnson (10), Nate Linhart (10), Blake Ahearn (13) and Kyle Spain (14) all had a double-digit scoring opening half for Erie.
An Antonio Daniels driving lay up with 7:02 left in the third quarter drew the Legends within 13 points of the BayHawks lead, but that was as close as Texas would get in the third. The Erie lead would swell up to 22 points heading into the final quarter.
Texas would not go down quietly. They outscored Erie 21-9 to start the fourth and climbed within ten points of the lead at 115-105. However, the BayHawks scored the next nine points in a row to stretch the lead to 19 and preserve the victory.
Alexander led the scoring effort for Texas with 22 points, while Daniels added a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.
Tasmin Mitchell led the way for Erie with 31 points, as Garrett Temple contributed 25 points and 11 boards.
The Legends fell to 17-20 on the year, as the BayHawks improved to 24-10.
Texas will hit the road tomorrow night as they head to Tulsa to take on the 66ers for the seventh time this season, but just second time in Tulsa. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
