Texas Tycoons News Release

Dallas, TX - In a back and forth game that saw two great teams take each other's best shots, Texas prevails 125-123 and advances to the ABA's Final Four.

A slow first half had Texas fighting back in the second putting 37 and then 35 points on the board in the 3rd and 4th quarters with Josh Gonner (6'2''-G-82, college: S.Carolina ) getting hot from beyond the three point line connecting on three consecutive triples and continually attacking the defense en route to a 12 for 12 performance from the foul line on his way to 21 points on the night. Brandon Lee (6'3''-G, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Tarleton St. ) got loose for a 7-13 night from the field while connecting on three triples of his own for 19 and Jerome Rogers (5'10''-G-81, college: N.Texas ) came alive in the second half for 19 of his own but Texas saved the best for last as Donnie Beacham (6'5''-F-81, agency: ND Corner Sports, college: Texas Arlington ) had 23 points and 18 rebounds, the final board coming at the buzzer on a tip dunk as time expired; Texas prevailing 125-123.

Quad City proved to be a worthy adversary and Ryan Edwards (6'5''-F-83, agency: Elfus-Siegel Management (ESM), college: Missouri Baptist ) hit on 7 shots from downtown to go along with his 7 for 8 performance from the charity stripe including 3 crucial free throws down the stretch for 40 points on the night. When Texas wasn't busy trying to contain Edwards, Riverhawks set up man Lonnie Randolph (6'1''-G-83, college: Drake ) was getting to the foul line going 13 for 15 from the line en route to his 27 point, 4 rebound, and 5 assist night.

In the end it was Texas's all-star matching Quad Cities shot for shot and the put back dunk with less than a second on the clock sealed the home win for the Tycoons. Benny West (6'3''-G-82, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Howard Payne) had 16 points and 8 rebounds and Randall Williams (6'8''-C-82, college: Tarleton St.) had 14 and 8 when the team needed them most. Final score: Texas Tycoons 125, Quad City Riverhawks 123.

When asked about the important victory, Tycoons head coach Chris Terrell stated "You really have to tip your hat to the Riverhawks, they're well coached and they play hard. We were a little rusty coming into the game but we found our rhythm in the second half. The guys really battled all night and both teams played well. We had a little more left in the gas tank then they did down the stretch and that proved to be the difference. We're looking forward to hosting the Final 4 and bringing a championship ring to Dallas."

Texas now awaits the winner of Buffalo and Beijing/San Diego in the Final 4. The Tycoons will host the match-up at Dallas's Mountain View College Saturday night March 24th at 7:30. Tickets will be on sale by contacting the box office at 214-749-0134 or online at www.txtycoons.com.
