Bridgeport Bluefish News Release

Bridgeport, CT- JANUARY 28, 2007 The Bridgeport Bluefish announced today that Terry McGriff will return to the Bluefish as the Bench and Hitting Coach. McGriff is a 6 year veteran of the major leagues. He played for the Cincinnati Reds, Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals and was the Bluefish original 1st draft pick in 1998. Terry played for the Bluefish for 4 seasons prior to joining the coaching staff in 2002.

A native of Fort Pierce, Fla, "Griff" brings a wealth of baseball knowledge and experience to the dugout. He is also a perennial favorite of fans and most especially children. Griff himself is the father of three children. Manager Tommy John said "Terry's years of experience with the Bluefish and his knowledge of the players in the league will make him an invaluable asset in our quest to bring a championship home to Bridgeport."

McGriff and Tommy John met recently in Florida where they discussed the upcoming season and player personnel. Terry said, "I was the catcher for the Bluefish when they opened in 1998 and I have been with the team in one way or another ever since. I'm the only guy who has been here for the entire 10 years and I've seen what the team has brought to Bridgeport and what Bridgeport has given to the team. Bridgeport is my second home and I'm looking forward to helping in every way I can to bring fun and excitement to our fans. I'm very happy to know I'll be with the Bluefish to celebrate their 10th year."
