New Haven County Cutters News Release
West Haven- The New Haven County Cutters announced today Shortstop Charles (Chas) Terni has re-signed for the 2006 season. Chas appeared in 85 games last season batting .263 with 19 doubles, 7 home runs and 43 RBI's.
Terni, a former 13th round selection of the Boston Red Sox in 1997, Chas spent 5 seasons with the organization, splitting time between Gulf Cost League (R), Lowell (A) and Augusta (A). In 2001 he also spent time with the Milwaukee Brewers appearing is 106 games for Beloit (A). The Uncasville, CT resident was a solid shortstop last season with an impressive .940 fielding percentage.
"We are very excited to have Chas back; his veteran leadership was a key component to the Cutters second half season title. Chas has great fielding range and is very strong up the middle, we expect him to come back and play an important role for us this season." Manger Mike Church said.
The Cutters kick off the 2006 season on May 25th as they travel to take on the Brockton Rox. The Cutters will play their home opener on May 29th against 2005 Champion, Worcester Tornados.
