Ten Sockers Selected for International Competition in March

Ten different San Diego Sockers players will be playing for their respective countries over the next two weeks as international soccer competition highlights the final two weeks of the month of March. Four Sockers have been selected to the U.S. National Arena Soccer Team in advance of next week's WMF World Cup, being played March 21st-29th across the United States. In addition, two Sockers will be playing for Team Mexico, one for Team Brazil and another for Team Germany in the World Cup.
Sockers captain Kraig Chiles is joined by midfielders Chiky Luna and Jeff Hughes and defender Evan McNeley on the U.S. National Arena Soccer Team. The USNAST begins play in the first-ever WMF World Cup on March 23rd in Ontario against Kazakhstan. Team USA takes on El Salvador in Ontario on Tuesday, and will conclude Group A play against Czech Republic on March 25th in San Diego at the Valley View Casino Center.
Team Mexico, which opens up WMF World Cup play on Saturday, March 21st in Dallas, will feature Sockers defender Eduardo Velez and midfielder Raymundo Reza. Sockers defensive captain Ze Roberto will also don the armband as he helps lead Team Brazil in the World Cup. Sockers rookie midfielder Arman Nadjafi has been selected to help represent Team Germany.
The World Cup continues with quarterfinals March 26th hosted in Dallas and Wichita, and the semifinals/finals March 28th-29th in Chicago. Tickets to all WMF World Cup matches can be purchased here: http://pointstreaksites.com/view/wmfworldcup/tickets
In addition, the U.S. National Beach Soccer Team is in the process of CONCACAF qualifying for the Beach Soccer World Cup. Sockers forward Nick Perera is the captain of the U.S. National Beach Soccer Team, and will be in El Salvador for qualifying along with starting goalkeeper Chris Toth.
