Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Bulls opened the doors to the public as Team White defeated Team Navy 4-3 in the full scrimmage on Saturday afternoon inside the Budweiser Bullpen.

With fans in attendance, seeing the Bulls play their first full scrimmage of 2019 Training Camp, the two sides skated to a stalemate in the opening period of action, before Devan Tongue netted the opening goal of the contest for Team White to make the score 1-0.

Team Navy wasted little time in answering the opening score, as Matt Allen took a feed from Oliver Bezick to level the score at 1-1.

With short time remaining in the first period, Team White's Lauri Serrti showed his two-way skills and netted the go-ahead goal to take the lead into the intermission.

As the second period got underway, the action escalated, causing all four goalies, Charlie Glockner, Max Gutjahr, CJ Hapward, and Ethan Lahmon, to see top-tier chances on net.

The lone scoring in the second came by way of Team Navy's Aaron White who found himself in front of goal after a feed from Gagik Malakyan.

The third period saw Team White pull away with a pair of goals from Matt Smoliga and Niclas Puikkonen, before David Hill earned a goal back for Team Navy to bring the Team White lead to just 4-3.

Despite the side's best efforts, Team Navy failed to convert on multiple chances within the final minute of play.

The Bulls will open their 10th anniversary season on September 16, 2019 on the road against the Topeka Pilots before returning to Amarillo for the home opener on September 27 against the Shreveport Mudbugs. Tickets can be purchased by calling (806) 242-1122 or visiting AmarilloBulls.com.
