
Tavarez and Castro combine for four RBI to push Pride past Quebec

(Quebec, QU, June 8, 2008) Catcher Aregenis Tavarez led the Pride attack going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs scored, and a pair of stolen bases, to give Nashua their fourth win on the final game of a six game road trip.
Pride third baseman Ismael Castro also collected three hits in the game, going 3-for-5 with a double, and an RBI. First baseman Bryan Duplissie and infielder Sammy Rosario also collected RBI for the Pride.
Pride starter Hideki Nagasaka improved to 3-0 on the season, lasting five and one third innings, giving up five runs, on seven hits, three walks, and five strikes outs. Closer Andrew Weimer notched his fifth save of the season.
Capitales starting pitcher Eric Cyr suffered the loss, going five innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, one walk, and four strike outs. Quebec reliever Mark James was also tagged for three runs by the Pride.
Quebec cut a 6-1 Nashua lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning, mounting a rally against Nagasaka that was halted by Pride relievers Mike Joyce and Adam Piechowski.
The Pride return home to Nashua's Historic Holman Stadium and open up a six game home-stand, beginning with a three game series versus the New Jersey Jackals. Game one is scheduled for a 7:05pm start, when Lance Stevens (2-0) gets his fourth start for the Pride.
