In the completion of the suspended game from Saturday, the New Jersey Jackals held off the Sussex Skyhawks late to get a big victory on the road. The Skyhawks would jump out to a 2-0 in the first inning thanks to LF Jorge Moreno's two-run home run, his first of the season. The Jackals responded by scoring all four of their runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run triple from C Craig Maddox. Sussex would get across a run in the eighth inning from a RBI single by LF Jorge Moreno but that would be it. Mike Vicaro notched the win for New Jersey as he went six innings allowing an earned run on six hits with five strikeouts. He is now 2-1 on the year.

Sussex 9, New Jersey 8 (Regularly Scheduled Game - 11 innings)

In the regularly scheduled game, 1B Juan Tejeda's error in the 11th inning allowed RF Matt Weston to score the game winning run as the Skyhawks beat the New Jersey Jackals and in the process take two of three in the series. This game was a seesaw affair and had plenty of offense as both teams combined to score 17 runs on 32 hits. Sussex 2B Chris Brown went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. The Skyhawks 1-2 hitters of CF Ron Perodin and SS Kevin Rios combined to go 8-for-12 at the dish with two runs scored and two RBI. Skyhawks reliever Matt Petrusek was the winner hurling three shutout innings allowing two hits and a walk while fanning one.

Ottawa 11, Worcester 8

Both Worcester and Ottawa brought their bats to the park on Sunday afternoon as the Rapidz outlasted the Tornadoes in a wild one and in doing so snap their seven game losing streak. Both teams combined to plate 19 runs and hammer out 26 hits. Ottawa 3B Felix Escalona went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and a RBI while CF Jared Lemieux turned in a 2-for-4 performance, including a fourth inning grand slam. Rapidz reliever Noel Baca was the winner pitching 3 1/3 innings giving up a run on four hits with two punchouts. He evened his record at 1-1. For the Tornadoes in the losing cause, CF BJ Weed and 3B Mike MacMillan each had three hits on the day with Weed scoring three runs.

Nashua 6, Quebec 5

The Nashua Pride snapped Quebec's six game winning streak by edging the Capitales by a run on the road. Quebec jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a wild pitch by Pride starter Hideki Nagasaka. The Pride would come roaring back as they scored three runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth to take a 6-1 lead. But the Capitales in the bottom half of the sixth tagged Nagasaka for four runs to cut the lead to 6-5. Nashua brought in reliever Mike Joyce and got RF Mike Goss to ground into a fielder's choice and LF Issael Gonzalez to fly out to get out of the inning and preserve the lead. Joyce, Adam Piechowski and closer Andy Weimer would combine to allow Quebec only a hit and two walks the rest of the way.

A wild affair took place in Atlantic City tonight as the Brockton Rox outlasted the Atlantic City Surf. Both teams this evening combined to score 25 runs on 31 hits. The Rox 1-2 hitters of CF Ervin Alcantara and SS Dom Ramos together went 5-for-12 at the dish with four runs scored and six RBI. Ramos also chipped in with his first dinger of the year. Brockton reliever Jacob Ramos was the winning pitcher allowing an unearned run on three hits in 2 1/3 innings pitched. LF Clyde Williams was 4-for-5 with two runs scored, two home runs and five runs driven in for Atlantic City.
