Minot, ND - As the 2016/17 NAHL season draws near we are giving Tauros fans a chance to meet all of the new members of the club as well as learn a little more about the returning Tauros. We will play 20 questions with a different Tauro every day from now until the NAHL Showcase going in number order, today we catch up with veteran forward #15 Chris Melendez

Melendez played for the Palm Beach Hawks of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) last season. As a Hawk Melendez posted 37 points in 45 games spent mostly in the Elite Division. At 6'1" and 176 lbs Melendez brings decent size. A Miami, Fl, native he becomes the third Tauro from The Sunshine State following Troy Degler (Ft. Myers) and Ben Hughs (Jacksonville).

From the Coaches' Office: Chris is a player that we don't know a lot about. He was brought in on a recommendation from a very reliable source. He has very good hockey instincts and can make plays. Chris will be another player we will be watching closely during the exhibition season. But with today being Day 1 on the ice, he looked good and I believe will get more comfortable every ice session. - Marty Murray

Do you have a nickname: Chris

Older/younger siblings: Older sister 22 yrs old

Favorite NHL team/player: Boston Bruins - Jamie Ben

What inspired you to start playing hockey: My dad played hockey when I was little so it inspired me to play.

Pregame routine: I try to arrive 2 1/2 hours prior to game start. Change into my work out cloth, do a light stretch by my stall. Tape my stick, warm up, then listen to music while I get dressed.

Ideal pregame meal: Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti

Any hockey superstitions: I don't like when people touch my stick after I tape it. always put my stuff on left side first.

Best hockey memory: Winning a state championship on shoot out my squirt year.

Aside from people, what will you miss most from home: The beach and my house.

Do you believe in ghosts or aliens: Ghost

Favorite vacation spot: The Florida Keys

Least favorite word: disappointing

Favorite candy bar: Crunch

Favorite pizza topping: Bacon

What song would you sing for Karaoke: Jackson Outkast

Favorite cartoon as a kid: Jimmy Neutron

Do you have a hidden talent: No

What's your dream car: Mustang GT 2015 Blacked out

If you could have one superpower what would it be: Invisible

If you had to go on a reality show which one would you choose: Tosh.0
