Tauros 20 Questions: #21 Colton Berg

September 7, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Minot Minotauros News Release

As the season approaches we will be giving you a chance to meet the new Tauros as well as learn a little more about the returning players by asking them 20 questions.  We will be going in number order; Friday we met Christian Mohs and today we hear from Colton Berg. Come back tomorrow to hear from Quinn Fuchs.  For links to all of the past Tauros 20 Questions look to the bottom of this page.

Colton Berg tendered with the Tauros last December while he was playing for the Minnesota Blades AAA and Centennial High School.  While with the Blades during the fall season, Berg skated with fellow Tauro rookie Sam Fuss.  After that the defenseman went on to post 15 goals and 10 assists in 25 games for Centennial, including 11 power play points.  Berg then added five goals in three games in the sectional playoffs.

At 6'1" and 175 lbs., Berg brings good size to the Tauros back end, and a physical game that Tauros fans got to see first hand in Saturday night's exhibition win over the Bobcats.  That combined with the offensive potential he showcased in high school it is easy to see why the Minotauros coaching staff was quick to tender the defenseman last winter.

From the Coach's Office: Colten was a tender of a ours last fall.  He is a high skilled defenseman that sees the ice well.  His skating ability and his offensive awareness make him a player that should help our PP.  Colten has decent size and a good stick. - Head Coach Marty Murray
