Talons Top Week Four Coaches Poll

The defending ArenaCup Champion Tulsa Talons have maintained the No. 1 ranking in the Week 4 Coaches Poll, the arenafootball2 (af2) league office announced on Wednesday. Tulsa collected 437 of a possible 448 points and 23-of-29 first place votes in securing the top position for the fourth consecutive week. The Talons (3-0) continued their strong start to the 2008 season with a come-from-behind, 64-60, win on Saturday at Arkansas. The Spokane Shock (3-0, 393 points, 3 first place votes) maintained their spot at No. 2 overall for the third straight week after a 55-51 road victory on Sunday against West Division and in-state rival Tri-Cities. Florida (2-0, 377 points) improved one position this week to No. 3 on the strength of a 62-47 home-opening win over South Division rival Tennessee Valley. Quad City moved up two spots from No. 6 to No. 4. The Steamwheelers (2-0, 308 points) handed No. 3 Louisville its first loss of 2008 on Friday at Freedom Hall, 39-28. Lubbock made the biggest jump of the week, improving their plot eight spots from No. 13 to No. 5 overall. The Renegades (2-0, 3 first place votes) followed up a 75-41 road win in Week 2 at Austin with an equally impressive 63-43 home victory against Oklahoma City on Saturday.
