Amarillo Venom News Release

AMARILLO, TEXAS The Amarillo Dusters announced today the emergency assignment from the arena football 2 league office of former West Texas A&M kicker, Jered Snelgrooes. He will join the Dusters roster for the game against the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings.

"Jacob Felton and his wife are expecting their first child and he felt he needed to stay behind," said Dusters head coach Chris MacKeown. "We signed Jered on an emergency basis at the last minute, but Jacob will be back."

MacKeown looked to a local source to find a kicker, West Texas A&M football head coach, Don Carthel.

"Coach Carthel is a big Dusters fan and it was great for him to help us out in this situation," MacKeown said.

Snelgrooes is originally from Pampa, Texas. He played for three seasons with the Buffs, used mostly for kickoffs.

"Jered filled a spot in an emergency and that is big," MacKeown said. "He hasn't had much practice on the arena level, but he should be ok."

The Dusters will be in action on Saturday, May 19 at Bossier-Shreveport, taking on the Battlewings. The game is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. Fans can catch all of the action by going to www.dustersfootball.com and following the links to NiftyTV. You can also listen live on KPUR 107.1 in Amarillo or KGYN 1210 AM in Guymon, Oklahoma.
