Louisville City FC News Release
LEHIGH VALLEY, Penn. - Louisville City FC (4-1-1, 13 points) will travel to Lehigh Valley, Penn., on Sunday to take on USL-newcomers and Philadelphia Union affiliate Bethlehem Steel (3 p.m. | WATCH).
LouCity supporters are invited to Buffalo Wild Wings St. Matthews (4600 Shelbyville Rd.) for the Club's official Watch Party at 3 p.m. The match will be shown on the big screens with sound, plus plenty of great food and drink specials, LouCity street team giveaways and more.
The match will be the Club's third over the course of eight days. Here are a few things to look for as LouCity look to remain at the top of the Eastern Conference table.
Greg to the Rescue: Scott Goodwin, a LouCity fan favorite, will be out of Sunday's game after being shown a red card Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Greg Ranjitsingh is a great option for coach James O'Connor in goal and he proved that on Wednesday. The Canadian nearly saved a Pittsburgh penalty and made a 1-on-1 massive save after a Riverhound through ball made its way beyond the LouCity back line. O'Connor trusts Ranjisingh, and LouCity supporters should as well.
Hoffman's Hot Streak: LouCity striker Chandler Hoffman scored again on Wednesday in the Club's 2-2 draw against Pittsburgh, his seventh of the year and good for at least one goal in four straight games. Hoffman will look to continue helping his team by making his intelligent runs against a Bethlehem defense that has had trouble stopping opposing teams thus far in the 2016 campaign.
More Lineup Shakeups?: On Wednesday, O'Connor shook up his team's makeup by inserting Enrique Montano and Guy Abend into the starting lineup. The LouCity coach is known for giving all of his players a chance, so it should be interesting whether he continues his switch-ups on Sunday.
LouCity embarks on a two-match road trip with visits to MLS-affiliates Bethlehem Steel (3 p.m.) on May 1 and Toronto FC II (7:30 p.m.) on May 4.
LouCity's next home game is a showdown with regional-rival Saint Louis FC on May 14 (7:30 p.m.).
Fans can stay up to date with all of Louisville City's breaking news, roster updates and ticketing information by following the Club on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Season tickets are available for Louisville City's historic second season via the Club's official website.
