HERRIMAN, Utah - In Week 28 of the USL Championship season, T2 fell 5-1 to Real Monarchs SLC at Zions Bank Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Key plays

Real Monarchs SLC (11-9-7, 40pts) took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute after Kendall McIntosh made an initial save on an initial shot by a Monarchs attacker, but the rebound fell to Douglas Martínez, who scored at the far post.

Portland leveled the match two minutes later in the 24th minute when Brayan Hurtado beat his marker to the end line, forcing a diving save from Monarchs goalkeeper Andrew Putna. The ensuing rebound fell to Gio Calixtro, whose shot from inside the six-yard box was finished at the near post. The goal marked Calixtro's fourth of the USL Championship campaign.

Monarchs SLC gained a 2-1 advantage in the 38th minute when Martínez received a cross and headed it into the back of the net.

Looking for an equalizer, Ryan Sierakowski's left-footed shot from the edge of the box forced Putna into a save at the near post in the 46th minute. In the 60th minute, Carlos Anguiano's shot from outside the box was parried aside by Putna

Real Monarchs added a third goal in the 64th minute when McIntosh made an initial save on a shot from outside the box, but Martínez tapped in the rebound. Martínez added a fourth goal when he was released in behind the Portland defense and finished past McIntosh to make it 4-1. Monarchs SLC midfielder Kyle Coffee scored in the 83rd minute to give his side a 5-1 advantage.
