PORTLAND, Ore. - T2 today announced the addition of Eric Kronberg as the club's goalkeeper coach. An MLS veteran goalkeeper, Kronberg played for Sporting Kansas City and the Montreal Impact.
Kronberg, 36, enters his first season as T2's goalkeeper coach, previously serving as Sacramento Republic FC's academy goalkeeper coach and its U-15 head coach (2018-19), while also assisting with Sacramento's first-team goalkeepers. Kronberg enjoyed a 12-year professional career playing in the United States in MLS and the USL. Additionally, Kronberg served as a player-coach with Montreal in his final season.
The Santa Rosa, Calif., native played two seasons of collegiate soccer at Fresno State University (2002-03) and two seasons at the University of California (2004-05). Kronberg was drafted in the fourth round (40th overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by Sporting Kansas City. Kronberg made 25 career appearances (24 starts) for Sporting KC (2006-14), while making five career appearances (5 starts) for the Montreal Impact (2015-17). Notably, Kronberg was part of the Kansas City roster claimed the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS Cup in 2013.
