JOLIET-The Kansas City T-Bones (39-46) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning and cruised to an 11-2 win over the Joliet JackHammers (30-55) in front of 4,152 fans in the opener of a four-game series at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones touched up Joliet RHP Jason Novak (2-5) at the start of the game. CF Aharon Eggleston (4-5) led off the inning with a single and moved to second base when LF Damian Rolls (1-4) earned a walk. RF Greg Jacobs (0-4) hit a ground ball to Joliet SS Kevin Rios, who threw to third base to force out Eggleston. Jacobs reached first base on the fielder's choice. 1B Jim Fasano (1-4) walked to load the bases.

C Craig Hurba (2-4) lofted a single over the head of Joliet 2B Rob Dahlberg to score both Rolls and Jacobs for a 2-0 Kansas City lead.

2B Neb Brown (3-4) hit a single to plate Fasano for a 3-0 lead.

DH Luis Terrero (1-4) hit a solo home run over the left centerfield wall in the 3rd inning to increase the Kansas City lead to 4-0.

The JackHammers scored their first run of the game in the 4th inning. SS Kevin Rios (1-4) hit a triple and scored on a single by 1B Freddie Thon (2-4) to make it 4-1.

Kansas City scored four runs in the 6th inning. C Craig Hurba (2-4) singled and moved to second base on a single by Brown. A fly out to center field by 3B Jacob Blackwood (1-4) allowed both Hurba and Brown to advance into scoring position. Eggleston hit an RBI single to score Hurba to make it 5-1.

A three-run home run by Rolls catapulted the T-Bones lead to 8-1.

Joliet scored a run on a wild pitch in the 7th inning. 3B Wally Backman, Jr. (1-3) led off the inning with a walk and moved to second base on a single by DH Mike Garcia (2-4). LF Eric Scriven (0-4) hit into a fielder's choice that retired Garcia at second base. Backman, Jr. moved to third on the fielder's choice. He scored on a wild pitch by RHP Justin James to make it 8-2.

Brown hit an RBI single in the 7th inning to make it 9-2. Eggleston smacked a two-run home run in the 8th inning to make it 11-2 Kansas City.

The Jackhammers and T-Bones continue their four-game series on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. LHP Devin Anderson (1-3, 5.71) gets the start for Joliet against RHP Dustin Bolton (5-5, 5.36) for Kansas City. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1340 WJOL and online at www.jackhammerbaseball.com.
