KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Last night the Kansas City T-Bones of the independent Northern League reached the 1.5 million fan mark in just the team's sixth year of existence. The T-Bones drew 4,535 fans last night, giving the team a total to date of 1,502,503 fans.

Early last May the T-Bones welcomed their one-millionth fan through the gates, taking the organization just over four years to accomplish that feat. Over the team's six years in Kansas City, the T-Bones have averaged a total of 5,524 fans a game. That includes an average of 5,836 in 2008. If the trend continues, the T-Bones could hit the two-million mark during the 2010 season.

"That we have achieved this milestone so early in our history is a testimony to several groups," said T-Bones General Manager Rick Muntean. "First, the Ehlert family for recognizing Kansas City and particularly Wyandotte County and the Village West area as a great place to put their ballpark. Second, the dedication and tremendous effort by the T-Bones staff and game day employees who strive for excellence every night. Finally, and most importantly, the fans who have energized CommunityAmerica Ballpark into the greatest place to watch a professional baseball game in all of Independent Baseball. To everyone involved, congratulations!"

Additionally, the T- Bones are battling for the fourth and final Northern League playoff spot. The T-Bones magic number currently sits at two with three games remaining.
