The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced today they have signed non-import fullback Chris Szarka to a new contract. Financial details of the signing were not released.
Szarka is heading into his 14th season with the Green and White after originally being selected by the team in the second round (13th overall) in the 1997 CFL College Draft. In 206 regular season games, Szarka has tallied 429 carries for 1,702 yards and 32 touchdowns, and 97 receptions for 1,295 yards and five touchdowns.
In the 2009 season, the Eastern Illinois product had 15 carries for 78 yards and six touchdowns and three receptions for 20 yards in 18 games as the starting fullback.
