Syracuse's Bryan O'Quinn Named MISL Player of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Tuesday that Syracuse Silver Knights goalkeeper Bryan O'Quinn had been named the league's Player of the Week for the 15th week of the 2011-12 season. O'Quinn recorded a pair of victories, including a remarkable performance against the Rochester Lancers, as the Silver Knights continued their push to reach the MISL Eastern Division Finals.
Bryan O'Quinn made his third Silver Knights start when the Knights faced off against the Norfolk SharX at home last Thursday. O'Quinn had a strong night in his second consecutive start. He made 17 out of 19 saves and kept the SharX out of the goal during the first and third quarters.
Then on Sunday, in front of 7,210 in Rochester, he kept a clean sheet through the first half and into the third quarter, making all 12 stops going into halftime. O'Quinn finished with 25 of 29 shots stopped in the Knights' 23-9 victory. He also contributed offensively, recording an assist when he made a long through from end to end and found Enrique Tovar to put the ball into the net.
With four appearances this season, O'Quinn stopped 76 of 99 shots, giving him a save percentage of 76.8, the best for a current starting goalkeeper league-wide.
Come see O'Quinn defend the Knights' goal! Syracuse's next home games are on Wednesday, February 22 against the Milwaukee Wave, Saturday, February 25 against the Wichita Wings. Both games start at 7:00 PM. O'Quinn and the Silver Knights close out the regular season at home on Sunday, March 4 at 4:00 PM.
