Syracuse, New York - The Silver Knights announce two former Chicago Riot stars Andre Berenzon and Alex Megson (pending league approval) to the Syracuse Silver Knights roster today.
Alex Megson (Tacoma, Washington) is a swift midfielder that has a lot to offer the new indoor team. Eager to become a part of the lively city of Syracuse, Megson will play his 2011-2012 indoor season with the Silver Knights. Alex Megson began his professional career with the Milwaukee Wave from 2009-2010. At the end of his season, the rookie was traded to the Chicago Riot. Megson played only one season with the Riot before he was named the 2010-2011 MISL All-Rookie Team in March of 2011. During his previous season, Megson starred in 18 games, earning 20 points with nine goals, two assists, and seven blocks. He also played on the PASL (Professional Arena Soccer League) in 2008-2009 where he racked up 5 goals and 1 assist during his 4-game call-up to the USNAST in Monterrey (United States National Arena Soccer Team).

The Syracuse Silver Knights announce the signing of the talented Andre Berenzon (Sao Paulo, Brazil) to their star studded roster. As a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Berenzon made his professional debut with the Rockford Rampage back in 2008 where he played a total of two seasons. Before signing with Syracuse, the speedy and ultra-skilled midfielder made his MISL debut with the Chicago Riot. While playing for the Riot, Berenzon was named to the 2010-2011 MISL All-Rookie team in March of 2011. Berenzon played in a total of 18 games netting 20 points, 9 goals, 2 assists, and 7 blocks.
"Every time Andre touches the ball he has the ability to create goal scoring opportunities. His flair and passion for the game are sure to make him a fan favorite in Syracuse" said the Silver Knights head coach Tommy Tanner.
Fans can watch Andre Berenzon and Alex Megson take the field on Friday, Nov. 4th at the Oncenter War Memorial Arena as the Syracuse Silver Knights kick off their MISL season against the Rochester Lancers. The home opener will be played at 7:30pm.
The Silver Knights will be announcing more signings in the coming days. The team will play 24 games this season, 12 at home, 12 on the road and will compete against teams from Milwaukee, Missouri, Baltimore, Rochester, Wichita, and Norfolk. Tickets are now on sale now!
