SYRACUSE, New York - The Silver Knight season started this evening in Baltimore to take on the reigning Eastern Division Champions, the Baltimore Blast. Both sides were active this off season with player movements who made impact on each side.

For the Silver Knights the new look was seen right from the start in their starting lineup. Making their Silver Knight debuts were MASL rookie goal keeper Matt Perrella and former Baltimore Blast forward JJ Gibson. On the other side was a new starter for the Blast but a familiar face to the Silver Knights in former forward Andrew Hoxie.

It did not take long for the Blast to prove their dominance of the Eastern Division in the match. Just 2:26 into the first quarter Adriano Dos Santos found the back of the net for the Blast. The Blast wouldn't look back and kept their foot on the gas taking shots from all angles at the new MASL keeper, Perrella.

The first quarter ended but not before the Blast could build a 4 goal advantage. Goals from the Blast coming from Dos Santos, Hoxie, Danta, and Roque. The remaining three quarters would show a different story for the Silver Knights.

Matt Perrella would get back and find a new rhythm in the second quarter where he was able to shut out the Blast. Perrella was able to make several big saves in the quarter as well as getting a few bounces going his way with shots off the posts and out. The Silver Knights were able to control the pace of play more and gained more control than in the first quarter, but still coming up empty on the score sheet.

The third quarter started with the Silver Knights trailing 4-0 and soon the Silver Knights would have their best scoring chance of the night. After an intentional handball from Blast GoalKeeper William Vanzela, the Silver Knights were awarded a penalty shot going 1 on 1 with the keeper. Kenardo Forbes stepped up for the Knights but his shot went high over the net and the opportunity was no more for the Knights.

The Silver Knights were kept off the scoreboard after the two minute powerplay that saw several chances come close to hitting the back of the net. The remaining 20 minutes of the game was a back and forth, tight affair, but saw goals only from the home squad. Dantas was able to score in the third quarter for his second goal of the game and Roque was able to put away his second of the night to increase the Blast lead to 6-0 early in the fourth quarter.

The Silver Knights will look to regroup and get off on the right foot next Friday, November 20th when the Knights will open up their Home Schedule with a match against the Detroit Waza Flo. Last season the Waza Flo and Silver Knights split their 2 games series with the home side taking the win each time.
