SYRACUSE CRUNCH SIGN FORWARD JOHN KURTZ TO PTO

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have signed forward John Kurtz to a professional try-out contract, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Kurtz, 27, has skated in 26 games with the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL this season posting four goals and 10 assists along with 25 penalty minutes. Last season, he split time between the Toronto Marlies and Utica Comets. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound left wing tallied four points (1g, 3a) in 14 games with Toronto and two goals in 25 contests with Utica.

The Oakville, Ontario native previously appeared with the Crunch from 2009 to 2012 when he notched six goals and two assists along with 149 penalty minutes in 67 games. Kurtz is a veteran of 310 career AHL games and has recorded 43 points (21g, 22a) and 590 penalty minutes with the Marlies, Comets, Admirals and Crunch. He has also played in 53 career ECHL games with the Admirals and Elmira Jackals earning 25 points (8g, 17a) and 55 penalty minutes.
