Syracuse Chiefs Announce Spring Training Schedule

Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A Affiliate of the Washington Nationals, announced today the team's 2011 Spring Training schedule. This year's spring slate will consist of 13 games beginning on March 17 and ending on April 2.

All of the Chiefs' home games will be played at the Washington Nationals Training Complex in Viera, Florida. Opponents include the Gwinnett Braves, the triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, the Toledo Mud Hens, the triple-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, the Oklahoma City RedHawks, the triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, and the Buffalo Bisons, the triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

Minor league staff is set to report in Viera on March 3 with pitchers and catchers reporting the next day. The first full squad workout will take place on March 9.

The Chiefs will open the home portion of the 2011 regular season on Wednesday, April 13 against the Pawtucket Red Sox at 2pm.
