Syracuse Silver Knights News Release

5 Things to Watch vs. Harrisburg Tonight

1. Quick and Accurate Passing

When Syracuse passed the ball effectively against Milwaukee and Chicago, the club looked like a real contender for the playoffs. The Silver Knights passing game created easy chances which led to goals. Can the Knights sustain their possession game for a full four quarters?

2. Much like snow, beware of the flurry

Central New Yorkers know how a snow flurry can turn into a squall. So do the Silver Knights, who have had opponents make big runs on them in short periods of time. Chicago tallied six straight goals in five minutes last match. The Knights cannot allow the Heat a hot scoring streak.

3. Improving on Special Teams

Syracuse is scoring on 36 percent of their power plays and stopping their opponents 44 percent of the time while short-handed. The Silver Knights need to get both of these numbers over 50 percent if they want to be contenders for a playoff spot.

4. Keep Tex, Gonzaga and Carvalho in check

Heat midfielders Lucio Gonzaga, Val Teixeira and Ricardo Carvalho provide most of the scoring for Harrisburg. The Silver Knights need to keep this trio under wraps this holiday season.

5. The Ceremony Honoring Alex Bono

The Silver Knights will honor former Baldwinsville High School and Syracuse University goalkeeper Alex Bono, who currently plays for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer. Bono will receive a commemorative Silver Knights jersey and sign autographs for fans after the match.
