
Sweets Take Game Two of Non-League Series with Offense

Walla Walla, WASH- The Walla Walla Sweets (21-18) took down the Thurston County Senators 10-2 in a non-league game on Friday night.
The Sweets struck first with two runs in the third inning. Willie MacIver (Washington) drove in Nick Vigo (Cal State Monterey Bay) for the first run of the game on a double. MacIver then scored on a passed ball to make it 2-0 Sweets.
The Senators came back to tie it was a bases-loaded single in the fourth.
The go-ahead run was knocked in by MacIver in the fifth on a sac fly and he was not done. On a 2-2 pitch in the seventh, he slammed a two-run home run to left-center field to make it 5-2 Walla Walla. He finished the day 3-3 with four RBIs and a triple short of the cycle.
A big five-run eighth inning gave the Sweets a 10-2 lead and they shut the door from there.
Walla Walla took the series with the win, two games to none, and head back to West Coast League play next. The Sweets welcome in the Gresham GreyWolves to Borleske Stadium tomorrow with first pitch slated for 7:05 P.M.
