Walla Walla Sweets News Release
WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Walla Walla Sweets 2015 season presented by Columbia REA is less than 50 days away, with Opening Day presented by Edward Jones scheduled for June 5 at 7:05 P.M. Today the team announce the return of Sweet Lou's Skills Camp presented by the YMCA for children ages 6 to 8 and the Family Medical Center Free Community Clinic. The Sweets are also excited to announce the re-branded Sweets Prospect Camp, a four-day camp for youth ages 8 to 18 presented by Pro-Build. Each camp will offer local children the opportunity to improve their baseball skills with instruction from Sweets' coaches and Sweets players.
Saturday, June 6 from 9 AM to 12 PM, the Sweets will host the Double-Play Free Community Clinic presented by Family Medical Center. All youth ages 6-18 are invited to participate as Sweets coaches and players teach the fundamentals of baseball. Family Medical Center staff members will be on hand from 11 AM to 1 PM offering $10 sports physicals in preparation for the 2015-2016 school year. Parents must accompany children to the camp on June 6 to sign a liability waiver, and parents must be present for sports physicals. Youth who attend the clinic will be treated to a free lunch courtesy of Banner Bank.
"Camp attendance has continued to grow every year, drawing from Walla Walla and the surrounding communities," said Sweets president Zachary Fraser. "We are thankful to our partners in the community who help make these camps possible, and to our coaching staff and players who are willing to share their knowledge and skills with a younger generation of players."
