
Sweets Fall in Battle of the Basin Game One in Yakima

WALLA WALLA, WA - Otho Savage had a season-best outing however the Sweets dropped game one of the series with Yakima Valley 2-1 from Yakima County Stadium on Friday night. With the loss, the Sweets move to 16-30 overall and 6-13 in the second half.
Savage started off the game hot giving up only one run through the first five innings of work, while punching out four batters and only giving up two hits on the night. However, offensively the Sweets struggled as they were unable to drive in any runs in the first five innings while leaving five runners on base.
Walla Walla's lone run came by the way of Cayden Wotipka who led off the sixth with a double. Mason Millar drove him in just moments later on a sac fly to tie the game at 1 in the sixth.
However, Yakima Valley re-took the lead moments later thanks to Beck Maguire who scored Owen Egan on a sacrifice play to go up by one.

Vicente Feliciano extended his hit streak to five-games
Savage went 5.1 IP with only 2 ER 2 H and 4 Ks
Kyle Fitzgerald was the only other Sweets pitcher used going 2.2 IP scoreless and allowing only 1 hit.
