June 23, 2022 - West Coast League (WCL)
Walla Walla Sweets News Release
CORVALLIS, OR- The Walla Walla Sweets were unable to pick up the game two victory as they fell to the Corvallis Knights 10-5. The Sweets fell behind early as Corvallis was able to take an 8-0 lead through three innings and never looked back.
The Sweets would trail the whole way, mainly due to a five-run bottom of the 1st from Corvallis. In that first Inning Sweets pitcher, Tyler Hoeft would allow five runs on five hits. Hoeft would take the loss for Walla Walla going only two innings and allowing seven runs (5 earned).
The Sweets would retaliate in the 5th where they were able to cut the deficit in half to only four. However, Corvallis would answer back and score two more runs in the final few frames on their way to a 10th victory on the season. With the loss Walla Walla falls back to .500 and 7-7.
Walla Walla will round out the series vs Corvallis tomorrow before heading back on the road to Springfield this weekend.
