Sweets Announce Coaching Staff for 2014 Season

WALLA WALLA, Wa. - The Walla Walla Sweets will welcome back members of the coaching staff that led the Sweets to a 2013 first place finish in the East Division. J.C. Biagi will return to the Sweets for his fifth season as manager. Also returning for his fifth season with the Sweets is pitching coach Mark Michaud. Terms have also been reached with assistant coaches Rob Holtzinger and Cesar Lopez.

"Our coaches have done an outstanding job leading the team in the Sweets' five seasons in the West Coast League," said Sweets' president and chief operating officer Zachary Fraser. "We're looking forward to having all four coaches in the dugout for the upcoming season."

Last season the Sweets went 31-22 in the regular season clinching first place in the East Division. Following the first place finish, the Sweets made their second appearance in the WCL playoffs, facing the Wenatchee AppleSox in the Division Series.

The Sweets open the 2014 season on Thursday, June 5 at 7:05 P.M. with Opening Day, presented by Northwestern Mutual. The team will open the season against an alumni squad of former Sweets players in celebration of five season of Sweets baseball.
