WALLA WALLA, Wash. - - The Sweets sign three more players, bringing their roster up to 18. All three players, Brandon Faire, Ryan Prescott and Stephen Hom, will make their Walla Walla debut this summer.

Faire, a sophomore from Walla Walla Community College, will stay in town for the summer. The infielder from Spokane Valley, transferred to WWCC from Yakima Valley and has played in both games for the Warriors to start the spring season. In those two games, Faire is batting .500, going 4-for-8 at the plate. In 2023 with the Yaks, Faire logged 32 hits with two doubles and a home run. Faire also drew 16 walks for an on base percentage of .347. On defense, he had a fielding percentage of .972.

Faire did not play summer ball last year, so not only will 2024 be his Sweets debut, but it will also be his summer collegiate debut.

"I'm super excited to play for the Sweets," said Faire. "This is a great opportunity and something I'm really looking forward to. I can't wait to keep working with Coach Molnaa and the rest of the coaching staff. I'm pumped to stay here in Walla Walla and play some great competition while meeting some new people."

Prescott, who is also playing for WWCC this spring, is a freshman from Eugene, Oregon. Prescott, who is listed as a utility player for the Warriors, will join the Sweets' pitching staff. He has not thrown a game yet for WWCC, but has batted in one game, going 1-for-3 with two walks to score two runs.

In his senior year of high school, Prescott pitched in two games, tossing 9.1 innings and striking out 16 batters for an average of just a little under two strikeouts an inning.

Like his spring, and now summer, teammate Faire, this season with the Sweets will be Prescott's first year in summer collegiate ball.

Hom is the third and final player to sign with the Sweets this week, joining Walla Walla as a junior from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Hom transferred there from Ohlone College, having originally been from San Jose, California.

This season with the Islanders, Hom has started 11 games and already has two multi-hit games on the season. In the field, Hom has a fielding percentage of .982, with just one blemish on 56 chances in the infield so far.

Unlike the other two signees this week, this will not be Hom's first season in summer ball. In 2022, he played for the Western Nebraska Pioneers, then out of the Independence League. Hom played 29 games and collected 25 hits, five of them going for doubles. Defensively, he split his time between second and third bases with the Pioneers. Hom took a summer off in 2023 and is now back to join to the West Coast League and the Sweets in 2024.

"I am super excited for a good summer of baseball," said Hom. "I am also looking forward to living that Sweet life in Walla Walla."
