
Swarm Lineman Named to All-af2 Second Team

Cincinnati, OH- arena football 2 announced on Tuesday that Swarm OL/DL Ronnie Washburn has been named to the All-af2 Second Team. Washburn becomes the first member of the Swarm to ever win a post-season award.
Washburn just completed his fourth season in af2. He recorded a team-leading 3.5 sacks in 11 games during the Swarm's inaugural season. On the year, Washburn recorded 13.5 tackles, 11 solo tackles, four tackles for a loss, five quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
This isn't the first time that Washburn has received af2 accolades. In 2001 Washburn was named the af2 Ford Toughman of the Year after recording 22 sacks for the Carolina Rhinos.
Washburn attended Livinstone University before beginning his pro football career. Washburn played for the Chicago Rush and Dallas Desperados of the AFL during the 2002 season before joining the Swarm in 2003.
The Swarm will begin their second season in af2 this spring at U.S. Bank Arena.
