Fayetteville SwampDogs News Release

LEXINGTON, S.C. - The Fayetteville SwampDogs fell to the Lexington County Blowfish Friday night, 12-6 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

The Blowfish struck for two in the first inning against Ross Gardner (Fr./East Carolina), to take an early 2-0 lead.

The SwampDogs chipped away with a run in the second inning, and even took a brief 4-3 lead in the top of the fourth after a sacrifice fly from Carson Waln (Soph./Wofford).

The Blowfish wouldn't waste any time in regaining the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a lead they would never relinquish, tacking on insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Gardner got the loss for the SwampDogs to fall to 3-1, while Robbie Baker (4-0) got the win.

The SwampDogs (15-26) head up to Edenton to take on the Edenton Steamers at 7:05 pm Saturday night at Historic Hicks Field, before returning home to face the Morehead City Marlins at 7:05 pm on Monday. The SwampDogs will be holding the World's Biggest Halloween Party in July, with $1 draft beers throughout the ballpark for the whole game.
