SwampDogs Lose Early Lead, Game to Blowfish

LEXINGTON, S.C.--Despite staking an eight run lead after the first at-bat, the Fayetteville

SwampDogs fell late to the Lexington County Blowish 12-9 on Saturday.

The first eight SwampDogs reached base and scored in the first inning. But the Blowfish

answered back with a four-run first and runs in the next four innings, including Bennette Hill's

game-tying home run to lead off the fifth inning.

The game remained deadlocked at nine until the bottom of the eighth when a trio of

SwampDog errors allowed three more Blowfish runs.

The SwampDogs hit the ball early with nine hits in the big first inning, but had seven hits

the final eight innings. All sixteen hits were singles.

Jimmy Chaase (2-0) pitched four scoreless innings, while striking out six to earn the

victory. Peter Moore (0-4) gets the tough luck loss, despite all off the late runs being unearned.
