SwampDogs' Aagard Receives Honor

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are proud to announce one of their own has received a prestigious honor. SwampDogs assistant general manager Jeremy Aagard (pictured left) was honored last night as one of Fayetteville ¬â¢s Top 40 under 40.
The honorees were nominated by employers, co-workers and friends based on their involvement in the community and charitable organizations. The nominations were then given to a panel of judges to determine the top 40. The judges weighed the community involvement, charity involvement, volunteer work and the nominee ¬â¢s vision for the future of Fayetteville.
¬ÅI ¬â¢m very excited to accept this award, ¬Â said Aagard. ¬ÅI ¬â¢m among a tremendous group of people in the 2011 class of 40 under 40. I ¬â¢m proud to receive this award and to continue to help Fayetteville become an even better place in the future. ¬Â
The Fayetteville SwampDogs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation ¬â¢s hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 15th season in 2011, the CPL features 15 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both the players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 800 alumni drafted and 42 alums make their Major League debut thus far.
