
Swamp Bats Win 6-5 Over Blue Sox for Third Straight Victory

The Swamp Bats and Blue Sox met for the sixth and final time this season and Keene would avoid a sweep and win it 6-5 in a thriller.
The Swamp Bats would attack Valley starter Perry Kulaga early when they would have the bases loaded in the 2nd inning. Chris Hardardt would be responsible for Keene's first run with an RBI single and then Lucas Luopa would have a sacrifice fly to deep right field. Keene would take an early 3-0 lead.
But the Blue Sox would respond with four runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning including a 2 RBI single from Manny Pazos and another 2 RBI single from Rob Pescitelli.
So Valley would take a 4-3 lead until Keene would answer back with a 2 RBI single of Connor Foreman in the 5th inning. The 2 RBIs would be Foreman's 11th RBI.
Valley would go to work once again in the bottom of the 7th inning with a run on an error by the pitcher but Keene would retaliate with a Chris Hardardt RBI double. The RBI would Hardardt's second RBI on the game. The Swamp Bats would take a 6-5 lead. Hardardt went 2-for-4 overall.
Zach Willeman would come in in the bottom of the 9th inning and get his fifth save on the season retiring three of the four batters he faced.
Kade McClure would get the start here today and pitch just 1.1 innings allowing six hits and four earned runs.
The Swamp Bats improved to 12-28 on the season and will head to Vermont to face the Mountaineers on Friday night for their final road game on the season.
