Surge Sign On Two Additional Assistant Coaches

Worcester, MA. ...The New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), welcomes two new assistant coaches, Patrick Haverty and Michael Pittman joining Coach Rick Buffington, "Coach Buff's" coaching staff. Haverty handles Secondary Coaching and Pittman will serve as the team's Linebacker Coach.

Haverty also joins Coach Buff and his coaching staff in the Surge's inaugural season. Prior to joining the Surge, Coach Haverty served as Head Football Coach for Fitchburg State College. While at Fitchburg State, Haverty compiled a 30-16 regular season record. During his time there, he was able to guide the team to their only two New England Football Conference Bogan Division Championships, (2004, 2005). Haverty's team also appeared in two N.E.F.C. Championship Games and two ECAC Bowl games. Prior to Fitchburg State, Haverty served as the Head Football Coach at North Middlesex Regional High School from 2000-2001. Coach Haverty has also had coaching stints at University of Massachusetts-Lowell 1998-1999 (Offensive Coordinator), Fitchburg State, 1996-1997 (Defensive Coordinator), and Leominster High School 1991-1995. Haverty lives in Fitchburg with his wife Susan and three lovely children.

Pittman is currently the Head Coach of Cathedral High School in Boston, MA overseeing all aspects of the coaching and training along with game planning and all position coaches for the football team. Most recently, Pittman served as the Head Coach for the Boston Panthers, an EFL league and as defensive coordinator he won EFL Coach of the Year. Pittman boasts a coaching career that spans almost two decades. He is thrilled to be able to share his extensive coaching experience as a new team member of the New England Surge Professional Indoor Football coaching staff.

Coach Buff states, "I am very pleased to add such talented coaches to the Surge's coaching staff, teaming up with Jerry Snay and Dennis Faulkner. Patrick Haverty as Head Coach led his football teams to many championships while Michael Pittman has won EFL Coach of the Year." The New England Surge's stellar coaching staff, led at the helm by Coach Buff give the Surge in excess of 6 decades combined coaching experience.
