Surge Hit the Road Playing NY/NJ Revolution Saturday April 28
April 27, 2007 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL)
New England Surge News Release
Worcester, MA. The New England Surge of the Continental Indoor Football League, (CIFL), is rearing to go after a rigorous practice schedule this week, minus Coach Rick Buffington. Earlier this week Owner & President Roy Lucas, Jr., released Head Coach Buff from his responsibilities and assumed interim Head Coach responsibilities for the remainder of the season. Lucas will rely on his experienced and talented coaching staff including Associate Coaches, Jerry Snay handling the Ofensive Line and Pat Haverty Defensive Back, to ensure the players are playing to their maximum abilities.
New England slammed the Revolution 61-6 in their first home game on April 14, at the DCU Center in Worcester to a crowd of 4,724. Lucas states, "Firing Coach Buff was not an easy decision to make. But it became evident that we had diverse philosophical differences. We have a strong roster of very talented and experienced athletes who are here to win." The Surge is looking at coming back from the road trip with two wins. Besides playing the Revolution this weekend, they are meeting up with the Steubenville Stampede on May 5. They return to Worcester with back to back home games on May 12, 19 and 26.
They will resume their regular practice schedule as usual next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at The Auburn SportsPlex, Teamworks on Route 20 in Auburn from 7-10PM.
