
Surge Dominate Naturals 11-3 on Saturday Night

Wichita Wind Surge News Release
Wichita, KS- Edouard Julien's two home runs and four RBIs led the Wind Surge to an 11-3 win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Saturday night as Wichita took the series lead.
The Naturals struck first as they forced two first-inning walks and allowed Logan Porter to hit a sacrifice fly that scored Tucker Bradley to take an early 1-0 lead.
Julien responded for the Surge with a solo home run in the bottom of the first to tie the game. Cole Sturgeon followed with a sacrifice fly that scored Christian Encarnacion-Strand to give Wichita a 2-1 lead.
The Surge scored five more runs behind RBI doubles from DaShawn Keirsey Jr. and Andrew Bechtold. Julien added to the lead as he hit his second homer of the game to give Wichita a commanding 7-1 lead.
Wichita added four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Encarnacion-Strand hit a two-run homer. Sturgeon followed with an RBI double and later scored on a wild pitch to make it an 11-1 ballgame.
Notes: Edouard Julien extended his hit streak to 13 games, longest hit streak in Wind Surge history. BJ Boyd and Chris Williams had 12 game streaks... Julien hit his second multi home run game of the season and the Surge ninth of the season.... Encarnacion-Strand now has 5 home runs and 17 RBIs in 12 games played... The Surge improved to 42-8 when scoring 5 or more runs...
Coming Up: The Wind Surge will resume play in the series finale against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals tomorrow; July 31st. First pitch is at 1:05 and gates open at noon. Simeon Woods-Richardson will get the start on the mound for Wichita and Andrew Hoffman will be on the hill for the Naturals.
