Supporters' Shield Leading Earthquakes Face Chivas USA

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes will look to extend their lead in the Western Conference and Supporters' Shield standings when they face Chivas USA on Saturday at The Home Depot Center at 7:30 p.m. PT on Comcast SportsNet Plus, 95.3 KRTY and 1370 KZSF.

The Earthquakes (16-6-5, 53 pts.) hold a six-point edge over Seattle Sounders FC (13-6-8, 47 pts.) in the Western Conference table and a three-point advantage over Sporting Kansas City (15-7-5, 50 pts.) in the Supporters' Shield race.

San Jose cruised to a 4-0 win at Buck Shaw Stadium in their last meeting with Chivas USA on Sept. 2. Victor Bernardez tallied the game winner on a free kick in the 11th minute. A Simon Dawkins goal and a pair of free kicks from Ramiro Corrales sealed the dominant win.

With seven games remaining in the regular season, the Earthquakes are the lone team in MLS to have clinched a spot in the MLS Cup Playoffs.
