Supporters' Group Leads Player Dinner Initiative
March 2, 2020 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Charlotte Independence News Release
Charlotte (NC) - Jack's Militia, an independent supporters' group of the Charlotte Independence professional soccer team, is kicking off an initiative to become more connected with the players. For those who enjoy dinner and getting to know the Independence 2020 roster, you're invited to join casual dinners, throughout the season, hosted by the fans. Titled "Tasting Tuesday" the effort's aim is to welcome players to Charlotte and provide an opportunity to become connected beyond the field.
There is no cost for attending Tasting Tuesday and all fans are welcome to join. Typically, there will be 2-3 Independence player guests announced prior to the dinner. The location of the restaurants will be picked by the player guests, or chosen by Jack's Militia in order to explore different cuisines and parts of the Charlotte-area. Meals will range between $8 and $15. Jack's Militia is asking fans who attend, pay for their own meals and, if able, please contribute $5 to help cover the costs of the meal for the players. Any remaining funds will be donated at the end of the season.
March 10th - Tasting Tuesday RSVP
The first Tasting Tuesday, will be hosted on March 10th with special guests Enzo Martinez and Valentin Sabella at Che Gaucho (4724 Old Pineville Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217) for an authentic Argentine-Uruguayan experience. Please RSVP in advance for reservation purposes. Walkups are welcome.
