Chattanooga, Tenn. - Cristhian Martinez dealt seven scoreless innings while driving in two runs to help his own cause, leading the Jacksonville Suns (16-14) to a 9-0 victory over the Chattanooga Lookouts (12-18) in front of 4,103 Saturday night at AT&T Field.

Martinez (4-2) had a no-hit bid broken up on a Lucas May sixth inning single, but finished allowing only three total hits over seven scoreless frames. In the victory, Martinez walked three with six strikeouts.

James Adkins (1-3) fell in defeat for Chattanooga, allowing four runs, four hits and four walks with four strikeouts over four and two-thirds innings.

Jacksonville opened the scoring in the fourth against Adkins when Brad Davis grounded out to drive in Kevin Randel for a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Cristhian Martinez helped his own cause with a two-out, two-run single, scoring Tim Torres and Lorenzo Scott for a 3-0 lead.

In the fifth inning, Randel grounded out to drive in Chris de la Cruz for a 4-0 advantage.

Chattanooga reliever Travis Schlichting recorded outs of the first two batters in the sixth inning before dealing back-to-back walks. Chris de la Cruz next bounced a ball right of the mound, but Schlichting hit him in the back running down the line for an error to load the bases. Lee Mitchell next belted a grand slam homerun to right-centerfield to open an 8-0 lead.

The Suns added the final run in the seventh inning against reliever Francisco Felix, as Brad Davis singled home Tim Torres to end the scoring at 9-0.

The Jacksonville Suns return to action Monday May 11 at 11:05 a.m. against the Mississippi Braves. LH Andrew Miller will make a rehabilitation appearance for the Suns against Mississippi RH Kyle Cofield.
