Suns rise early, coast to 9-5 win

Eastlake, OH:The Hagerstown Suns scored five runs in the top of the first inning on Wednesday and never looked back, beating the Lake County Captains 9-5.

The Suns (16-22) snapped their longest losing streak of the season with the 9-5 win. Nick Evans came through with his second three-hit game of the year, including his sixth homer, and Jonel Pacheco also had a three-hit game. Kevin Tomasiewicz (4-1) earned his fourth win of the year with 3 2/3 shutout innings.

Thursday's finale is scheduled for 11:05am with RHP Bobby Parnell (0-1) going for the Suns against RHP Frank Herrmann (0-2) for the Captains (20-19). After the game, the Suns travel to Lakewood for four from Friday through Monday. The Suns next home game is a Thirsty Thursday & Ladies Night on May 25th at 6:35pm against the Delmarva Shorebirds.
