The Pittsfield Suns (24-18) shut the door early on the Torrington Titans (24-20), capturing a 10-3 victory on Sunday at Fuessenich Park.
The game was decided quickly as the Pittsfield Suns exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.
An RBI single by Dan Palazzo in the first inning and a two-run error, an RBI single by Dan Cellucci, a double by Tyler Bell,, and a double by Palazzo during the second inning fueled the Pittsfield Suns' offense early.
Paul Cotler racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Pittsfield Suns. He homered in the sixth inning.
RJ Going had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the third and eighth innings.
Jamin McCann recorded his seventh win of the year for the Pittsfield Suns. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered five hits.
Zachary LaRosa ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked three and struck out three.
