Suns Kick-Off Glove Drive
January 7, 2010 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Hagerstown Suns News Release
With the temperatures throughout the area dropping to below freezing, the Hagerstown Suns want to encourage the local community to drop off a pair of new winter gloves at Municipal Stadium for those who are in need.
The gloves (or mittens) can be for children or adults. The Suns will collect gloves from the local community up through January 22nd. One incentive for the local community to participate is that for each pair of gloves donated, the Suns will give the donor back a pair of general admission tickets to opening day at Municipal Stadium on April 8th when they host the Hickory Crawdads.
"It's been a cold snowy winter," said Suns President and General Manager Bob Flannery. "We wanted to find another way to help out the local community and make a difference."
Gloves can be dropped off at the Suns front office at Municipal Stadium, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
